Many vertical blinds are made with synthetic polyester fabric, which is durable, fade-resistant and easy to clean. As a man-made material, polyester is constructed with fibers that do not break down as easily as natural cotton, silk or wool. Some manufacturers avoid fabric altogether and use vinyl, aluminum or wood for vertical blind construction.
