We have had California Shutters in other homes, and there have been small issues, some could be resolved and some couldn't. When we moved to our "new to us" home, we wanted the highest possible standard of excellence and not just in product; we wanted the absolute best installation too! It's a tall order, right? After reading reviews for a number of companies, we contacted Modern Window Fashion, and that's where "The Barrington Experience" began. Barrington arranged to come to our home, just as other providers did at our other homes. What was different was that Barrington didn't begin by sharing all of the reasons that shutters might not fit right or say that , "we can install them but they may not be quite as good a fit as you would like", and he didn't attempt to convince us that we should do things "his way" or any other way! There were no limitations placed on our expectations whatsoever! Barrington brought samples, explained all of the differences, and measured our windows and frames. He was an absolute wealth of information and explained each of the options that were available to us. Barrington didn't try to influence our decision and he didn't rush us through the process. He was a consummate professional, and he genuinely wanted to work with us to ensure the outcome that we wanted. Barrington is an excellent communicator; he calls when he says he will and also keeps the appointments that he makes, he actually recognizes that our time is important as well. Barrington made some modifications, during the installing phase, to ensure that our casement windows could be opened without damaging either the shutter or the window crank. We have never had an installer do that before and it makes a huge difference. Communication, Service, Quality Product, First Rate Installation AND, all at a competitive price will make Modern Window Fashion and Barrington our only choice for shutters going forward. Barrington's service was excellent! He has a wide selection of blinds and his price for the same quality product was significantly lower than even the best sale price at Blinds to Go. He gave good advice and saved me from ordering the wrong thing. He even got stuck in snow, but carried all of the materials up to the house to install my blinds as scheduled. I saved money and got better, personalized service!

Barry was awesome and easy to work with. He did our main floor and upstairs with black out blinds. It turned out exactly how he wanted it and he was very professional and answered all our questions. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for custom blinds.

Barrington from Modern Window Fashion was very helpful helping us understand options for our window coverings for 13 windows. He scheduled an appointment to show us samples and measure our windows and provided clear timelines and costs from the beginning of the process. Once the custom blinds were ready they were installed efficiently within a single day. We are happy with the results and had a positive experience with the company and its staff.

May 2024. We hired Barrington @ Modern Window Fashion to install shutters throughout our house and vertical blinds for our patio door. The experience was excellent, professional, and prompt throughout and prices were also competitive. Barrington first came by at our convenience to show us the product and explain different configuration options available with no sales pressure. After we confirmed our preferences we recieved a formal invoice, a deposit was paid, and the order was placed for production. Once the blinds were ready Barrington was prompt to let us know and came by again at our convenience to install them. The fit and finish was perfect. Precise measurements, careful installation, and overall a job well done. If it wasn't for a slightly off-center kitchen faucet that required a slightly modified installation for that window, that would have been the end. Barrington made sure to come back to ensure everything was perfect and even provided us a few extra replacement parts! Overall would highly recommend Modern Window Fashion and am very pleased with Barrington's service.
